Currently, more and more children are born by single mothers, and one of the common problems these moms encounter after birth is what to put on their child's birth certificate. Unknown to many, you can register a newly born child under the mother's name and they can leave the father's name blank to avoid too much confusion on what to write as the child's middle name.

Here is the step-by-step guide on how to get a PSA birth certificate online application for children with no middle name
1. Go to PSA Birth Certificate online application: or

2. Choose if you are requesting a birth certificate for someone else, click for your son or for your daughter in the option.
3. Carefully read the following information, these are the information needed for your request.
4. Carefully fill up the information needed for single mothers, then click "Continue".5. Fill up your child's information accurately, double-check, and click "Continue".
6. For the father's information, click the "There is no father in the Certificate of Live Birth". This is applicable if you didn't write the father's name upon registration of childbirth. but if you wrote the father's name, complete the needed information then click "Continue"
7. Next complete the mother's maiden information. Click "Continue".
8. Fill up your child's birthplace. Click "Continue"9. Choose the registration period. If your child is registered on time, which means within a week after the date of birth or late registration if more than 1 month after the date of birth. 11. Legal Proceedings: If your child has legal proceedings prior to your PSA birth certificate online request, choose the options of the proceedings. If none, choose "None" and "Continue". 12. Delivery address: Fill up the delivery address wherein you or relatives are available anytime to receive the delivery. 13. Authorized Representative: If you are not available to receive the PSA birth certificate upon delivery, you can fill you the information or the authorized representative to receive the PSA birth certificate on your behalf. Have the representative prepare an ID to present upon delivery. 14. Confirmation and copy: Double-check the information you entered and edit by clicking "back" if needed to change the info. Choose the number of copies you need and confirm your order.
15. Payment confirmation and payment options: A confirmation number will be given with payment options. You can choose from e-payment, bank payment, or over-the-counter payment whichever is more convenient for you.
16. Upon receiving payment: You will get a text and email confirmation of the payment and your order will be processed (within 24hrs). The next update that you will receive is that your order is ready for delivery and will be delivered in 2 days.
My experience in ordering my son's birth certificate online is a total breeze. No hassle of leaving the house early to be at the PSA office, falling in line for hours, and if you're really lucky, you have to return again the following day or two to pick up the birth certificate.
